Yin Yoga

Yin is a different approach to yoga that is not intended for those for a workout, but for those seeking to aid the body into a state of relaxation through a deeper connection.  In Yin Yoga, typically non-standing poses are held for 2-4 minutes, with the intention of stretching the connective tissue between the joints, which can aid in tight areas of the body – increasing range of movement and flexibility over time. Along with the benefit of added suppleness to the body, yin yoga also teaches us to become more patient and tolerant to the sensations of the body.  No poses should every be forced in yin especially, as gravity does most of the work in each pose.
